You’re very welcome! Definitely, the metadata of the NFT can be replicated indefinitely, but the original can still prove that they own the authentic one. Transaction history is immutable on the blockchain, and by checking the transaction timestamp that minted the original NFT happened before the transaction timestamp of the replicas will distinguish the authentic from the duplicated.

Possibly, though any participant, artist or the buyer can spin up a IPFS node and pin the metadata on his machine, then multiple copies of the data will live in the system!
